New Shipping Cost Structure and words on Coffee Prices.

A new price-point has been added to Fresco's already value-friendly shipping structure. For $7.50 up to 5, 12 Oz. bags or 4, 16 Oz. bags can be shipped to anywhere in the U.S.

See all Shipping Costs, click here.

Shipping costs are always a factor with on-line purchases. When I
first entered this business roasters were creaming their customers with high
shipping costs, and some even tacked on a handling fee. Hence, my introduction
of Fresco's Value Packages -- The Chubby, 3 Bagger and Mamma Mia -- which
charged the customer my cost for USPS Priority Flate Rate, and too they
delivered the most bean for the buck. It was a hit, and other roasters followed
with more competitive rates. Today these same roasters are taunting Free or a
low cost Flate-Rate shipping fee, and if one looks closely at their coffees
prices you'll see higher prices. No doubt they are making up for the shipping
fee promo. Personally as a consumer I'm insulted by such antics and wouldn't
want to treat people like so.

Thus I'll continue to stick with providing my customers with great service,
a superb roast, excellent coffees & espressos, decent prices and straight
forward shipping fees that provide the most bang for the buck. Today with both
the soft commodities (coffee, sugar & cocoa) flying through the roof and fuel
prices on the brink of crazy I am being pinched. Believe me it breaks my heart
to raise prices but I have too and recently have. I kept my flagship Ambrosia
Espresso and Premium coffees and Blends at the same old prices while I shored up other offerings to come into their price-point, which pretty much mirrors the soft
commodity market.

Refined Labels

Newly refined labels have been in the works for the past few weeks and will soon be showing up in your orders. Perfection is in the details -- A lot refinement went into the details of the label and I want to send a big THANK YOU out to Lindsey at TreeDesign.Com for her great effort on incorporating the changes! I must say, they're looking their best! The big change to the labels is the addition of certification logos! USDA Organic, TransFair ("Fair Trade"), Rain Forest Alliance, Smithsonian's Bird-Friendly and Utz Kapeh logos now appear on the applicable Signature Blend label. Below is the Primo Blend label with its Organic and TransFair label! What do you think of it?
H-B Favorite Espresso Review

I'm loving the idea at Home-Barista.Com to begin formal evaluations of espresso coffees from U.S. roasters! A quote from Dan Kehn, the Head Honcho at H-B, about the Favorite Espresso Blend reviews, " ... our goal is to elicit the best every blend has to offer, ideally providing readers with brew parameters and tips for duplicating the results we report. The reviews will undoubtedly include copious taste notes, but true to the site's motto, there will be a strong emphasis on explaining what techniques we believe will work best for a given coffee." This intense evaluation will be of great benefit for both consumers and for the roasters. I ALWAYS value feedback (The Good, The Bad, The Ugly) from my customers as constructive. As an artisan roaster who has direct-contact with all product that leaves my shop having an intense review from this knowledgeable group will continue my journey to be one of the best roasters in the U.S. H-B members, vote.

www.tinyurl.com/fave-espressos

The Big Deal

Hello Everyone:

During the past year we've been through some unusual economic times. I like to think we are in the doldrums of the recession and things will begin to look better soon.

So far Caffe Fresco SCR, by design, has been able to weather the recession storm well, and I'd like to greatly thank you for your patronage during the past couple of months. To thank you, I've come up with The Big Deal! For those of you who have never tried Caffe Fresco before, The Big Deal is a great time for you to experience great roasted coffee.

The Big Deal is about low prices on the Value Packages. The cost for the Chubby (2, 16oz. bags), the 3 Bagger (3, 12oz. bags) and the Mamma Mia (6, 16oz. bags) are $26, $29 and $78 respectively, and the low price includes shipping! International customers, I have you covered with a deal on a 3 Bagger for $37.00!

The Big Deal is only available through the following link!

http://www.caffefresco.us/services/TheBigDeal.php

Simply use the pull-down menu to select a Value Package, and then click the Buy Now button. During check-out leave a note with your coffee selections in the "Add Special Instructions to Seller" field. Your order will be Roasted and Posted as normal. Local NEPA orders will be delivered by Moto Guzzi.

The Big Deal will be available until October 23rd. For practical purposes I've listed all offerings below. Feel free to share The Freshest Scoop of The Big Deal with all your fellow coffee and espresso lovers.

Single Origins

Bali, Blue Moon
Ethiopia, Sidamo Horse M.A.O.
Ethiopia, Djimmah, Decaffeinated
Tanzinia Peaberry
Daterra Estate Espresso Reserve
Costa Rica, La Minita Tarrazu
Guatemala, Huehuetenango
Peru, La Florida
Java, Preangur (New)
Papua New Guinea (PNG), Kimil-A
Sulawesi, Toraja
Sumatra, Gayo Mandheling

Blends

Ambrosia Espresso
Bello
Black Hand
Brown Brindle - specify PNG, Sulawesi, Java, Ethiopia or Sumatra.
USPS Priority Mail and Friday's Shipments

I use USPS for the Roast & Post service because it's TheBomb. USPS Priority mail is economical. It's quick. It's effective. I must say too, I take great pride in not marking up the price of their service. Why? Because the USPS does right by me by providing both free shipping materials (100% recycled material) and excellent customer service. By me not marking up their prices I feel I am passing their excellent service directly on to you. The employees at the Pittston, Pennsylvania Post Office are great. They know I'll be pulling up to their dock around 5:30 and are waiting for me and sometimes when I'm running a little late they have been known to wait a few minutes for me. In this day-and-age that kind of service is almost unheard of!

Friday's shipment! Many customers are afraid to make orders on Fridays in fear their coffee will be sitting around in the USPS mail system. This does not happen. The coffee is always on the move. In most cases what is shipped on Friday is delivered on Monday! Again, I must say the USPS Mail System is TheBomb!

NEW -- 1pm. (eastern) Roast & Post cut-off time.

I am always looking for ways to increase service. Because the new roasting facility is very streamlined, I feel comfortable in moving the Roast & Post cut-off time from midnight before to 1pm (eastern) the-day-of-roast. The new 1pm (eastern) order cut-off time will allow all customers, especially West Coast customers extra time to order the morning of a slated Roast & Post session. For more information on Roast & Post Sessions, please have a read of the following link;

http://www.caffefresco.us/services/roastAndPost.php

Thanks, TonyS.

First Real Entry! Firefox Users! What Version Are You Running?

As to be expected with a new website some bugs or glitches will happen.

I've received a few e-mails pertaining to a problem with the shopping cart, specifically items were not being added. After a few times around, I've concluded the problem occurs with older versions of Firefox web browser -- 2.0 and less. The current version 3.0 works just fine and I highly recommend installing the latest release 3.0.7. To do so click the link below.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

All The Best, TonyS.
